Bulldogge

These pets continue to gain love of dog fanciers all over the world, and their temperament has nothing to do with that of their old butcher predecessors. Modern species are small, and their broad heads and wrinkly muzzles with upturned lower jaws are the only reminiscences of their early designation. English species are 12-15 inches high at the withers, and they weigh 40-50 pounds. They are not intended for considerable physical strains or rigorous exercise, and they cannot tolerate heat or humidity. Their French counterparts are a little more active and playful.

Bulldogge -
pictures, photos
This breed is the ancestor of English, American and French varieties of the breed. All three varieties of present day Bulldogs are recommended for indoor living only. Extreme temperatures are dangerous for these dogs. These dogs have medium exercise needs; a few short walks a day are enough to keep them fit. Being short coated, these dogs don’t require much grooming. Regular brushing, ear cleaning and nail clipping will do. Frenchies shed very little and are much cleaner than other varieties of the breed. Unlike their English relatives, Frenchies are very active and playful.
