This is a very muscular dog with very strong jaws and a very wide mouth. These breed characteristics enabled this dog to perform its duties of bull baiting and fighting. Nowadays, these dogs are kept as companions and show no trace of aggression, though they retain their strength and tenacity and are able to defend the family when needed. The personality and disposition of the dog is that of a friendly, outgoing but self-assured dog. Being very tolerant, these creatures are ideal for children, but most adult and senior dogs are not very active and don’t like to participate in outdoor games.
